Priming
The Priming stage in focuses on both filtering the people that come to you, but also qualifying and warming up your existing possible targets:
- Target Changes
- Making the other person desire your solution more, or building anticipation in them;
- Techniques: Building desire, leveraging the person’s characteristics, identity labeling, leveraging their mood and/or physiology;
- Situational Changes
- Flipping the power dynamic when you have a disadvantage;
- Effort
- Making the other side put in effort to continue the relationship;
- Techniques: Rigidity, the home advantage, leveraging initiative, placing obstacles and/or testing the target, using indoctrination, escalating commitment, or using a code of conduct;
- Money
- Making the other person make a financial commitment;
