Priming is one of the modules of the Ultimate Persuasion Psychology framework, focusing on qualifying your influence targets. Both filtering those that are not attractive, and improving the quality of those that remain.
Priming Module
The Priming module in specific consists of four families of techniques, focused on qualifying and filtering your targets:
- Target Changes
- Changing something in the target themselves;
- Techniques: building desire, leveraging their characteristics, identity labeling, leveraging their mood and physiology;
- Situational Changes
- Changing the context, reversing power dynamics;
- Effort
- Making the target put in effort or initiative to prove themselves;
- Techniques: Rigidity, the home advantage, initiative, obstacles and testing, indoctrination, escalation of commitment, codes of conduct;
- Money
- Making the target invest;
